Funeral arrangements for United States Park Police Officer Hakim A. Farthing, Badge 408, killed in the line of duty on Saturday, August 10, 2002 are as follows:

Services:

§         Viewing: Thursday, August 15, 2002 1900-2100 hours at Immanuel Bible Church, 6911 Braddock Road, Springfield, Virginia 22151

§         Memorial Service: Friday, August 16, 2002 at 1000 hours at Immanuel Bible Church, with Police Procession to immediately follow

NOTE: Law Enforcement/Public Service Agencies report/muster at 0900 hours at exterior of Church/Braddock Road Side

§         Funeral Procession enroute to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 0730 hours will depart Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, Virginia

NOTE: Law Enforcement/Public Service Agencies report/muster at 0700 hours at Word of Life Church, intersection of Edsall Road and Backlick Road

§         Funeral Service on Saturday, August 17, 2002, at the White Rock Baptist Church, 53^rd and Chestnut Street, West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania viewing from 1000-1200 hours, with service at 1200 hours

§         Interment to immediately follow service at Ivy Hill Cemetery

Directions:

Immanuel Bible Church is conveniently located in Springfield, Virginia at the intersection of Backlick and Braddock Roads.

From the Capital Beltway (I-495):

§         Take Exit 54, Braddock Road East

§         Proceed east on Braddock Road approximately 2 miles.

§         Just beyond the intersection of Braddock and Backlick Roads, Immanuel Bible Church will be on your right

From I-395

• Take Exit 2, Edsall Road West
• Proceed west on Edsall Road 1 mile, then turn right onto Backlick Road at the light.
• At the next light turn right onto Braddock Road.  Immanuel Bible Church will be on your right.

Parking:

§          Immanuel Bible Church will be for Family and the United States Park Police

§         Word of Life Church, located at the intersection of Edsall Road and Backlick Road will be for Law Enforcement/Public Service Agencies

§         Bradlick Shopping Center, directly across Braddock Road from Immanuel Bible Church will be overflow parking

Police Procession:

Friday, August 17, 2002 following the Memorial Service, from Church will proceed south Backlick Road, east Edsall Road, I-395 north/Washington, will enter I-395 HOV lanes at next exit, north in HOV lanes, to Memorial Bridge exit, will take Route 27/Washington Boulevard to Memorial Bridge, east across Memorial Bridge, Lincoln Memorial Circle to Henry Bacon Drive, east Constitution Avenue, to 15^th Street, south 15^th Street, to Independence Avenue, west Independence Avenue to, 23^rd Street, south onto Ohio Drive passing the United States Park Police Headquarters, Buckeye Drive, to Ohio Drive, to East Basin Drive to I-395 south, to Exit 2B West Edsall Road, to Backlick Road
