 The United States Park Police advises of a:
 

Bus Crash On Baltimore Washington Parkway

On June 20, 2008, at approximately 4:21 p.m., the United States Park Police were notified of a one vehicle crash on the Baltimore Washington Parkway. The initial investigation revealed that a school bus registered to the District of Columbia Government was traveling southbound on the Baltimore Washington Parkway at the ramp to Route 50 (New York Avenue). The bus driver drove off the roadway into the wooded area between the ramp and the parkway. Reckless driving may have been a contributing factor to the crash. The bus was occupied by 9 adults and 10 juveniles (between 6-12 years of age).

All of the juveniles and 7 adults were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries. The driver was arrested for several traffic offenses.

The ramp to Route 50 was closed for the crash investigation. All traffic was diverted onto southbound Baltimore Washington Parkway until approximately 6:30 p.m.
