Contact: Loren Goering, 570 729-7574
Water quality monitoring conducted on August 29 and 30 revealed high fecal coliform bacteria levels throughout the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River and within Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The National Park Service at Upper Delaware Scenic and RecreationalRiver is advising against swimming in the Upper Delaware River at this time. The high fecal coliform levels are thought to be related to this week’s heavy rain and storm runoff. For more information please call Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River at (570) 729-7134. |
