Flooding Expected Along Upper Delaware River

Due to Hurricane Irene the possibility for significant flooding exists on the Upper Delaware River with major flooding likely on its tributaries.The weather forecast for Saturday night and Sunday calls for sustained heavy winds and flooding due to heavy rains.The National Park Service advises against boating at this time.

Travel advisories are expected due to potential for downed trees and flood waters across roadways.Please use caution and stay off roads except in emergencies.In response to the high winds and heavy rains Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River will close the Zane Grey Museum and the Narrowsburg Information Center on Sunday, August 28.

The National Park Service encourages everyone to visit www.ready.gov or www.listo.gov for tips on creating emergency plans and putting together an emergency supply kit.
