Description: A collatorative model recreation
program was instituted at three park sites - Washington Park,
Kosciusko Community Center, and King Community Center. The
project involved maximizing coordination among all public
agencies and private interests with the goal of increasing
recreation programs and institute "Park Watch" programs to
reduce vandalism and crime. A Private Industry Council was
orgaized to sponsor a student work program. The work program
provided specific park improvements, and it also been successful
in fostering community pride and ownership in neighborhood
parks.
