Description: A mobile arts and sports program
travels to 20 low-income housing complexes throughout the
city that provides a staging area where plays and live performances

and artistic workshops are videotaped and shown throughout
the city.

Description: An after school program for
at-risk youth located in three schools - Namesio Canales,
Manuel Elzaburu, and Juan A. Corretjer, where structured recreation
activities, cultural and self-improvement programs offer a
range of organized activities to keep youth off the streets
and out of trouble. A variety of activities include community
cleanup, recycling, sports tournaments, plays and talent shows,
self-improvement classes, and music and dancing classes.

Description: Timothee Sports Facility - renovated
gym, roof, restrooms, repaired fences, installed new playground

systems, installed new bleachers with metal roof, new weightlifting
equipment, and track and field equipment.

Project Name: Youth Rescue Through Recreation

Description: In a joint effort by the city
and the University of Puerto Rico, a swimming program was
developed for youth and teens. The swimming facility was provided
by the University, and the city provided the swimming instructors,
equipment, and transportation for the youth.
