Pioneer/Cheston Park - installed new playground equipment, fencing, renovated shed, ballfield, court area, and restrooms. Spruce-Raspberry Playground - installed new playground equipment, fencing, resurfaced walkways, and upgraded lighting system. Centennial Park - renovated wall, and ball court, installed new playground equipment, and fencing.

Description: A year-round recreation program was developed for the Glenside Public Housing Complex. In partnership with the Reading Housing Authority, the Olivert Boys and Girls Club, and housing complex residents this program was developed which served over 400 local children and teens. programs offered consisted of supervised team sports and games, field trips to local athletic events, arts and crafts, music, environmental education, homework tutoring, and social programs such as teen counseling and job placement assistance.

Description: Located at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center - UPARR funds were used for costs associated with the development of recreation services and programs for youth and teens. In addition, a van was purchased to transport participants to local recreation, sports, and cultural events.

Description: The city in cooperation with the Catholic Youth Center, developed a recreation and educational program for at-risk youth. The program activities included structured sports and games, physical fitness, community service projects, volunteerism, train participants to be recreation leaders, and anti-drug and gang educational seminars.
