Fees & Reservations

Entrance into the site is free. Visits inside the Main House are also free; however, tickets (time-specific "calling cards") are required, and are available at the Visitor Center. Advanced reservations are strongly recommended for groups of 10 or more. Call (314)842-1867 to make reservations, as well as for additional information and specific details about group program offerings.

 

Permits

Activities which are not part of the park's normal operation (such as professional filming, organization meetings, and 1st Amendment activities) require a Special Use Permit. You must submit an application (see link below) along with a non-refundable $75.00 fee for consideration of your request. Advanced contact with the park management staff is encouraged to clarify this procedure and answer any questions.

2011 Annual Pass

ANNUAL RECREATION PASSES

Although Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site is a fee-free park, you can purchase the America the Beautiful, Access, and Senior passes at the site. The Access and Senior passes require verification of disability or age. (You must be at least 62 to purchase the Senior pass.)

America the Beautiful - 2011 Annual Pass - Cost $80.
National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass
This pass is available to the general public and provides access to, and use of, Federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee for a year, beginning from the date of sale.

Replaces: Golden Eagle Passport and National Parks Pass and Golden Eagle Hologram.
The pass admits the pass holder/s and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle at per vehicle fee areas and pass holder + 3 adults, not to exceed 4 adults, at per person fee areas. (children under 16 are admitted free) The pass can be obtained in person at the park, by calling 1-888-ASK USGS, Ext. 1, or via the Internet at http://store.usgs.gov/pass.

America the Beautiful – Senior Pass - Cost $10.
National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass
This is a lifetime pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over. The pass provides access to, and use of, Federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity.


Replaces: Golden Age Passport - May be exchanged free of charge.
The pass admits the pass holder and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle at per vehicle fee areas and pass holder + 3 adults, not to exceed 4 adults, at per person fee areas (children under 16 are admitted free). The pass can only be obtained in person at the park. The Senior Pass provides a 50 percent discount on some Expanded Amenity Fees charged for facilities and services such as camping, swimming, boat launch, and specialized interpretive services. In some cases where Expanded Amenity Fees are charged, only the pass holder will be given the 50 percent price reduction. The pass is non-transferable and generally does NOT cover or reduce special recreation permit fees or fees charged by concessionaires.

Did You Know?

White Haven restored to 1875 color

White Haven was named after the Dent family home in Maryland, although it was never painted white during the nineteenth century. When President Grant owned the property, he had the house painted Paris Green, a typical Victorian-era color.
