Following the Life of an Enlisted Man: "Civil War Veteran, Richard H. Clow"

Richard McBee, author of Rough Enough: Including Richard H. Clow's Letters and Diary from the Civil and
Indian Wars, will speak about the key points of Richard Clow's life as a Union soldier and show how war changed
Clow's life view. The talk will take Clow through the Indian Wars, his transition to civilian life, discovery of gold in
the Black Hills, marriage and his final move to Oregon. The talk will be followed by questions and a book signing.
The lecture will be held in the visitor center theater and is free. Advance reservations are requested.
