Getting Around

Two main trails are found at Tuzigoot-The Ruins Loop trail and the Tavasci Marsh Overlook trail. The Ruins Loop is 1/3 mile in length, while the Overlook trail is 1/2 mile out and back. Pets must be on a leash to use any of the trails in the monument and normal entrance fees apply.

We have also opened up Tavasci Marsh trails. Please stop by the Visitor Center for information on these trails, and remember that the parking lot is locked at 5pm.

Prickly pear

Did You Know?
Both the fruits and pads of the prickly pear cactus can be eaten! Today you can buy them at some grocery stores, but the javelina who roam around Tuzigoot National Monument like to eat them right off the plant.
