Tumacácori offers rewarding opportunities for those interested in providing assistance to the park and the National Park Service, while at the same time increasing their knowledge and appreciation of the history and culture of the area.  Volunteers provide many skills and services which enhance the quality of the park, its programs, and exhibits.

Today many people are looking for ways to express their support for the National Park Service and expand their interest of the southwest and its culture.  Volunteers are the lifeblood of our programs.  The staff at Tumacácori is warm and friendly and considers volunteers an integral part of the paid staff.

Expectations

Volunteers are needed for all seasons of the year, but especially winter season which is the peak period at Tumacácori.  Consequently, we appreciate volunteers who are here as winter visitors, as well as year-round volunteers.

Volunteers should be dependable, enthusiastic, and able to work with others.

Volunteers receive on-the-job training in their particular area of service, along with special inservices which occur from time to time.
