  • Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site Sunday Closure Notice

    Due to budget reductions as a result of the federal sequester, the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site will be closed Sundays beginning March 10, 2013.

  • "A Night Under the Stars" Program Cancelled

    Due to rainy weather conditions, "A Night Under the Stars" stargaze event has been cancelled. The park plans to reschedule the event for later in the year. More »

Find out what's news in the park. In addition to our news releases and Schedule of Events, below are brief notes of nice to know tidbits of future happenings in the park.

  • The opening of the Hangar #2 museum at Moton Field has been eagerly anticipated. The work is nearly complete. The site anticipates hosting an opening ceremony early Fall 2013.
  • Plans are underway for the site to host a Night Sky program to be held at the Overlook near the National Park Service parking area on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Stay tuned for more info.
  • In the coming months informational and directional signs will be added to the site landscape making it easier for visitors to navigate their way from the upper level parking area down to the Hangar #1 museum.

First Class

On March 1, 1942, the first class of Tuskegee-trained pilots received their wings and commissions into the U.S. Army Air Force at Tuskegee Army Air Field.
