Alternative Transportation Systems Inventory

The Alternative Transportation Program has developed a list of existing Alternative Transportation Systems in order to better answer requests for how many transportation systems are in parks along with what types of systems exist. There are currently a 110 transportation systems in 98 national park units. You will find these parks listed alphabetically according to their region with their transportation system identified as either a National Park Service, Concessions/Contract or Public Transit operated system. Beside each park’s name is the type of transportation mode they operate (i.e., air, rail, road or water based transportation) and details about that system. If you have any questions regarding this list, please contact Jennifer Getz or at 202/513-7030.
