Participants

Approximately 2,000 NPS employees were randomly selected to receive
the employee survey while 350 designated supervisors were selected to receive
the supervisor survey.
RESPONSE RATE
- Overall response rate of employees for the Universal Competencies training
needs assessment was 46%.
- Overall response rate of supervisors for the Universal Competencies
training needs assessment was 31%.
A response rate of 25% is considered adequate for mail surveys. The
response rate received for the Universal Competencies Training Needs Assessment
is considered to be good by most standards for social research.
