Description
This competency requires a basic comprehension
of the structure and organization of the NPS at the park, cluster, field
area, and Washington Office levels; an understanding of the structure and
organization of the Department of the Interior and its place in the Federal
Government; and the development of an insight into an individual employee's
role in the NPS in particular, and in the Federal Government in general.

Local OrientationThis is web-based training which employees can take whenever it is convenient for them. It guides employees through an orientation to their work site, whether it is a central office or a park, including the resources managed by their area. They will become familiar with the organization’s structure and interview members of various disciplines. Average time to complete the entire module is 32 hours. This is a PREREQUISITE for:
