NPS Establishing or Changing Recreation Fees and the Public Participation Program (Webinar)
1:00-3:00 pm ET
Search DOI Learn Catalog = Civic Engagement Last Day to Register: May 16 @ 10am ET

This course will be particularly useful for parks that plan to increase or add to their fees in 2014. Superintendents, park planners, managers that oversee fee operations as well as fee supervisors and regional fee personnel are welcome to attend. The course is a critical component of the National Recreation Fee Program. This course provides an overview of the process parks must follow to change their existing fees or add new fees under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA) and will include the procedure for parks to request changes to their fees.

Civic engagement is a requirement of FLREA when sites change or add fees. We will discuss ways for parks to plan and conduct an effective public participation program using the guidelines specifically issued for fee rate changes.
