ENTRY LEVEL

I.Team Membership Skills

1. Appreciating differences in age, background, culture, race and religion
2. Eliminating organizational obstacles to team accomplishment
3. Assessing self to determine tendencies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the differences in the way people approach work and accomplish it

Complete self-assessment tool such as the Myers Briggs Type Indicator

Knowledge of types of cooperation required between divisions at the park and regional level

DEVELOPMENTAL LEVEL

3. Team goal setting
4. Assembling effective teams
5. Partnerships

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the qualities and aspects of an effective team

Knowledge of group dynamics and its effect on team projects

Skill in determining goals from a team approach

Skill influencing people to become members of an effective team

Skill in working with non-NPS partners on a team to accomplish park/unit goals

FULL PERFORMANCE LEVEL

2. Analyzing and optimizing team performance
3. Accomplishing partnership projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to effectively support and work within a park structure where teams assume significant responsibilities and delegated authorities

Ability to produce in support of high team performance which accomplishes sustained, measurable results

Ability to develop new skills to bring to a team effort which improve and enhance team functioning

Ability to fill the role of team leader to the satisfaction of the team.
