ETHICS

Essential Competencies

Description: Knowledge of Federal Ethics and Conduct requirements including laws and regulations and Department of Interior standards governing employee conduct; supervisory responsibilities for guiding employees in matters of personal ethics and conduct. Ability to work in relationships with Cooperating Associations, Friends Groups, contractors and others which do not compromise the reputation of the agency.

1. Leadership responsibilities to ensure NPS integrity
2. NPS partners and ethics

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to set an example and provide guidance to employees regarding ethics and internal controls, and maintain high standards of integrity

Ability to provide support and information on ethical questions and situations

Skill in handling situations effectively with NPS partners where integrity of agency representatives might be compromised
