Description: These competencies identify the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required to utilize office automation hardware and software systems. Work is completed under close supervision.
I.General Office Clerical Support/Word Processing/Office Automation
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Skill in operating a computer terminal, computer, or word processor and related equipment
Knowledge of processing procedures to enter data into predefined databases or spreadsheets and retrieving data
Knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation
Knowledge of basic office practices and clerical procedures
Ability to follow established guidelines, directives, and policies such as timekeeping and travel rules and regulations
Knowledge of unit in order to answer general questions or direct visitors/callers to appropriate personnel
DEVELOPMENTAL LEVEL
Description: These competencies identify the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required to provide support utilizing advanced hardware/software application. Work is completed with general review.
I.General Office Clerical Support/Word Processing/Office Automation
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Skill in operating computer terminal, personal computer, word processor requiring regular use of advanced software functions
Knowledge of office automation systems to employ processing procedures and function keys for performing substantial range of functions
Knowledge of automated systems, i.e., AFSII, to provide administrative support to work unit
Ability to track budgets, inventories and supplies
Knowledge of imprest cashier functions/responsibilities
FULL PERFORMANCE LEVEL
Description: These competencies identify the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required to provide support using advanced software applications of two or more software types. Work is completed independently with limited review.
I.General Office Clerical Support/Word Processing/Office Automation
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of capabilities, operating characteristics, and advanced functions of a variety of office automation software
Knowledge of office automation systems to evaluate software for office needs
Knowledge of office automation systems to perform nonstandard assignments
Skill in operating a computer terminal, personal computer, word processor to produce documents requiring the use and integration of advanced software functions in two or more software types
