A multidisciplinary career field serving both non-clerical administrative personnel and office support positions located throughout the Service; includes a wide variety of administrative skills in budget and finance, personnel, acquisition, and property.

Cultural Resources Stewardship

An interdisciplinary career field that focuses on the development and delivery of a competency-based training and development program for employees who preserve, protect, maintain, and interpret park cultural resources. Employees work in history, archeology, cultural landscapes, historical architecture, museum management, anthropology, and partnership programs that provide guidance and technical assistance to states, communities, and tribes. (This career field is closely linked with the Natural Resources Stewardship Career Field.)

Facilities Maintenance

A multidisciplinary career field covering over 80 classification series in all technical trades and crafts (Wage Board positions) as well as technical programs for associated professional tracts (like facility managers); includes standard maintenance programs, vocational training courses, craft and professional licensing programs, and development of specialty maintenance programs.

Public Affairs career field focuses on communication management with a direct link to trends, public opinion and perspectives through close daily communication with national, regional and local media; constituency and partnership groups; the public; and community leaders. Individuals in this career field serve as counsel to management on anticipated or actual public and medial reaction to actual or proposed policies, programs and actions. International Affairs career field focuses on international relations between the NPS, partner organizations and other countries.

Partnerships

An interdisciplinary career field including all career fields that either establish or maintain our relationship with park partners.
