Get Involved

The National Park Service cannot exist without support and interest of the public - meaning you! Thank you for taking an active interest in your National Park Service sites.

If you want to get more involved with Tonto National Monument, there are many different ways. Our staff is small, but sometimes vacancies of paid positions are open to applicants. Volunteering is a great way to learn more and give back. You may also find one of our cooperating associations offers a way to support the Monument. Tonto National Monument always encourages feedback on planning and operations.

Internships

An internship at Tonto National Monument is a great resume building opportunity. Internships are a full time (40 hour/week) career-development position with an educational component. While the Monument does not require that interns be students, Tonto can sponsor students to perform internships for college credit. Your supervisor can work with your school to certify credit.

The Student Conservation Association (SCA) places interns of all ages in conservation positions throughout the United States, including at Tonto National Monument. Applicants apply directly through the Student Conservation Association for positions at Tonto National Monument. Our staff interview and select interns.

Teacher Ranger Teacher Program
