History of a House - Now
Late ninteenth century view of the front of the plantation house. Today, the structures provide an important opportunity to learn about slavery and early nineteenth-century plantation life. Few documents describing the plantation house or kitchen house before the Civil War exist. What we know of the structures has been pieced together through scanty descriptions, structural studies and rare photographs. Proceed to History of a House - Design. Return to Closures. |
