Though the national monument is a new national park unit with limited services, there are still many things to do in and around the park to more fully experience Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley's story.

  • Visit Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ in Chicago’s South Side. There are currently no visitor services and only the exterior of the Church of God in Christ is open for visitors. Please respect the private property of the church. Find directions to Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ. Visitor information is located at Pullman National Historical Park 11 miles to the south.
  • For a more general idea of when the national monument is open for visitors, read up on our Operating Hours and Seasons page.
  • A Passport to Your National Parks® cancellation stamp for the Illinois unit is available at the Pullman National Historical Park Administration Clock Tower Building Visitor Center.
  • Visit locations related to Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley not in the monument. These include two homes where Emmett and Mamie Till-Mobley lived, Argo Corn Products, and the Burr Oak Cemetery.   • Visit the Bronzeville-Black Metropolis National Heritage Area, which was established in December 2022. This newly designated area serves to recognize, preserve, and share this historic community of African American achievement. It includes properties related to arts and culture, civil rights, business, and industry. Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ is within the area.
  • Visit nearby units of the National Park Service. These include Pullman National Historical Park and Indiana Dunes National Park.
