Theodore Roosevelt National Park is recruiting Junior Rangers. Kids ages 5 through 12 and their families are invited to Junior Ranger Family Fun Day on Saturday, August 1 for a lively adventure in the park.

The fun begins in the South Unit Visitor Center auditorium at 9:30 a.m. MDT and will continue throughout the day. Kids will go on a tour of Theodore Roosevelt's Maltese Cross Cabin, visit a prairie dog town, play games, and learn about who works in the park. Other activities include learning how the badlands were formed and what wildlife lives in the park. The day will end at 3:00 p.m. with the Junior Ranger graduation ceremony.

“We love to have kids and their families spend a day here. National parks are here not only for us, but for today’s kids and their children, too,” said Superintendent Valerie Naylor. “A family visit is a great way for people to learn about our country’s natural and cultural heritage while enjoying healthy outdoor recreation together.”

Children must be accompanied by an adult for the day’s activities and should bring a lunch, water, and sunscreen.
