Search Concludes for Missing Hiker in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

The body of Dan Olszewski, 48, of Midlothian, VA has been recovered in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.He had entered the park on Sunday for a day hike and was reported missing on Monday morning.

Olszewski's body was found off of the Maah Dah Hey Trail in the southwestern part of the park's South Unit.He was spotted by a helicopter crew from Minot Air Force Base.The body will be taken to the North Dakota State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Olszewski was an avid and experienced hiker who was very organized and prepared for outdoor activities.

The staff and volunteers of Theodore Roosevelt National Park and all of the other agencies that assisted with the search wish to express their condolences to the Olszewski family and their friends.
