The mission of the National Park Foundation is to strengthen the connection between the American people and their National Parks. The National Parks of New York Harbor Conservancy is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of the Harbor Conservancy with the National Park Service is to preserve and protect the National Parks of New York Harbor. |

President Theodore Roosevelt brokered a peace agreement between both sides in the Russo-Japanese War. The Treaty of Portsmouth was signed on September 5, 1905, ending the conflict and earning Roosevelt a Nobel Peace Prize.
