Repairs to the Moats and Fountains
An earthquake in August 2011 created cracks in the fountains and moats in the memorial plaza, causing them to leak and requiring that the water be shut off. A contractor plans to apply a sealant to repair the leaks by the middle of September. The National Park Service hopes to return water to the fountains and moats by the end of September.
