ART AND ESSAY CONTEST - Fourth graders from across the state are asked to submit an original essay or original drawing that answers the question, “Why is it important to protect the prairie, our history, and all of the National Parks?” There will be six winners - three in the artwork and three in the essay portions of the contest. Field Trips

Field trips to Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve include the following: *A 2-hour guided tour of the historic buildings and tallgrass prairie, Jr. Ranger Program, Leave No Trace Scavenger Hunt, "Looking Small...Thinking Big Activity", or an 1880s Spring Hill Ranch Living History program (upon staff availability).
