Traveling Trunks

Teachers may choose from six Traveling Trunks available at the preserve. Each trunk is full of curriculum-based educational activities and interesting props, ready for you to enjoy.

Loan period is for two weeks. The trunks may be picked up and dropped off at the preserve in person free of charge. To send the trunk through the mail, please call the preserve. If shipping, please use the zip ties enclosed in the trunks to secure the trunk before returning. Call the preserve at 620-273-8494 to reserve your trunk today.

Did You Know?

The ranch house at the Spring Hill Ranch is made of limestone blocks.

The limestone blocks used to build the historic house, barn, and outbuildings weigh over 160 pounds per cubic foot. Limestone was quarried locally, faced or quoined, then brought to the ranch for building purposes. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve
