Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve
Traveling Trunks
 

Teachers may choose from three Traveling Trunks available at the preserve.  Each trunk is full of curriculum-based educational activities and interesting props, ready for you to enjoy.

Loan period is for two weeks. The trunks may be picked up and dropped off at the preserve in person free of charge. To send the trunk through the mail, a $20 shipping charge applies. Please make checks out to the Kansas Park Trust.  A pre-paid return label will be inside the lid for its return. Please use the zip ties enclosed to secure the trunk before returning. Call the preserve at 620-273-8494 to reserve your trunk today.

Kansas is tied with Florida for 3rd place in most number of tornadoes per year. This tornado is actually a "dust devil" spawned from annual spring prairie burns at the preserve. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve
