From Flagstaff, take U.S 89 north for 12 miles (19km), turn right on the Sunset Crater - Wupatki Loop road and continue 2 miles (3km) to the visitor center.

By Plane
The nearest airport is located in Flagstaff, AZ.

By Public Transportation

Did You Know?
Hiking trails to the top of Sunset Crater Volcano were closed in 1973, because extensive erosion was damaging the cinder cone. Although tons of cinders were shoveled into the ruts, trail routes are still visible today.
