About the USPP

Originally called "Park Watchmen", the U.S. Park Police has been in existence since 1791. The Force is a multifaceted law enforcement organization within the National Park Service. The U.S, Park Police is responsible for the protection of National Icons, parkways, and parkland in urban areas. The agency plans and polices many notable events in the National Mall, the Statue of Liberty, and in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

Force members are dedicated to supporting the mission of the U.S. Park Police, have high ethical values, and strong moral character.
