
The Historical Society of Delaware (HSD), founded in 1864, is a private, non-profit, educational organization that provides and encourages a greater appreciation of the history of the state of Delaware and Delawareans through exhibitions, publications, and educational programs. Through the Society’s historic buildings, interpretive programs, as well as museum and library collections in Wilmington, Delaware, HSD has helped document and interpret Delaware’s crucial role in the Underground Railroad for over 100 years.
