This site is the location of the Sugar Tree Wesleyan Church (since demolished) attended by the following people involved with the Underground Railroad: James Bunton, G. P. Riley, Benjamin Rice, Richard Mace, Isaac H. Brown and Lewis Pettijohn. It contains the burial site of Isaac H. Brown.
