From Africa to Eternity, Inc., a 501C3, is an educational, touring exhibit that includes more than 3000 authentic artifacts and rare periodicals that chronicle the African American experience from pre-enslavement to the present. A permanent component of the display includes a presentation on the horrors of the African Diaspora, enslavement, abolitionism, and the Underground Railroad. The exhibit includes such rare artifacts as enslavement shackles used on captured runaways (1840s), an original congressional document from the Amistad trials (1841) and first editions of publications written by noted black and white abolitionists. These articles and others are used extensively to convey the theme of resistance as a response to legal bondage.
