The Asa and Caroline Wing House is an extremely well-documented way station on the Freedom Trail in Central New York State; the house retains integrity of setting, location, feeling and association. Wing (1815-54) was a regionally recognized abolitionist lecturer and organizer in central New York. His original lecture notes and diary are available for study, in addition to newspaper accounts, various obituaries, testimonials from Gerrit Smith and Frederick Douglas, and historical accounts written by several descendants.
Many other citizens were involved in this freedom conspiracy and research on the Underground Railroad is continuing.
