2013 Harriet Tubman Musical Tribute March 10

Acclaimed California jazz musician Marcus Shelby, with his quartet featuring Faye Carol, brings his powerful, moving musical tribute to Harriet Tubman to her birthplace of Cambridge, MD. In Harriet Tubman: Bound for the Promised Land, Shelby has created original compositions, re-arranged and re-orchestrated spirituals, freedom songs, and blues music that illuminate the story of Tubman. The performance begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, in the Choptank Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Resort, 100 Heron Blvd, Cambridge, MD. Tickets cost $20.00.
