"The UGRR Turned on its Head - Old Themes, New Directions"
The 11th annual conference for the UGRR History Project of the Capital Region will be April 13-15, 2012, at Russell Sage College in Troy, NY. The call for papers has been extended to October 30, 2011.
New research on the UGRR, slavery, abolition and the 19th century period has the potential to turn what we know about the UGRR on its head.
Proposals should address reinterpretation, new research, teaching using new research, and showing how such research can be used to celebrate the story of historically and contemporarily, as well as other proposals related to the UGRR in the past and its relationship with us today.
