Disease Prevention

Parks are a place to find health and wellbeing, and we want you to enjoy them. In the parks, you will be part of an environment that is shared with many others, and the health of all (the environment, the animals, and the wildlife) are linked together. As with any place you go, we want you to be aware of some of the disease risks that exist, so that you can take the right steps to prevent them. Take some time to learn more about our efforts to prevent and respond to disease threats in national parks. Explore the Health Topics Index to learn more about potential risks and exposures. If you do become sick after your visit and think it might be related to an activity in the park, be sure to report it and let us know.
