Throughout the centennial, the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation worked with partners across the country to celebrate the anniversary and deepen public engagement with national parks and public lands. The ongoing Find Your Park campaign, which originated during the centennial, is supported by the National Park Foundation and its corporate sponsors.

Congressional Friends of the National Park Service Centennial

The National Park Service invited members of the 114th Congress to help celebrate the NPS Centennial in 2016. Congressional Friends of the National Park Service Centennial were members of Congress who shared in celebrating this milestone event.

The National Park Service Centennial Advisory Committee of the National Park System Advisory Board offered guidance and recommendations on NPS Centennial plans. Included were representatives of park friends groups, conservation and preservation groups, park concessioners, cooperating associations, educators, and others committed to the NPS mission.

A special arts grant initiative celebrated the 50th anniversary of the National Endowment for the Arts and the 2016 centennial of the National Park Service. Imagine Your Parks united the mission of the two agencies to promote and protect the nation's natural and cultural treasures.
