Forever Free: Emancipation to Civil Rights

Just weeks after the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln's signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, educators will explore ways to teach students about end of slavery during the Civil War and the connections between emancipation and the civil rights movement one hundred years later.

Educators will learn how industry supported the efforts of both sides during the Civil War and explore how the war transformed the nation into an industrial powerhouse.
