Stones River National Battlefield
Be A Junior Ranger
A ranger and two girls in front of a tent and cannon.

Young visitors to Stones River National Battlefield may become Junior Rangers during their visit. A new Junior Ranger Activity Booklet will debut on Saturday September 26, 2009. Children ages 6 and up can earn Junior Ranger badges and patches by completing activities that will help them learn more about park resources and stories.

If you can’t make it to the battlefield, you can visit the WebRanger Headquarters on the web and explore your national parks from home.

Prescribed Fire at the Slaughter Pen

Did You Know?
Stones River National Battlefield uses prescribed fire to preserve the battlefield landscapes. Fire also helps eliminate invasive exotic plants and encourage the growth of native grass species.
