Seasonal Advisory
Temperatures on Liberty Island tend to be slightly lower than New York City weather reports due to Liberty Island's location in the New York Harbor and its susceptibility to strong winds. Visits to Liberty Island are restricted to the outside grounds while the Statue of Liberty's pedestal undergoes construction. Please dress appropriately.
For current weather information please check here.
Purchasing Tickets
Tickets to visit Liberty Island (which includes passage to Ellis Island) can be purchased at

Ferry Schedules
Looking to make the most of your day? Review the
Statue Cruises Ferry Schedule. When viewing the schedule, be sure to select your departure point at either Battery Park, New York or Liberty State Park, New Jersey. Schedules are also available on-site at the Information Center.
Going Inside the Statue
Access in and on the Statue of Liberty is currently restricted as the 125 year old Statue undergoes improvements. Restrictions include all observation levels and the Liberty Island Museum. All visitors will have access to the grounds of the Island. Park Rangers will be available for interpretive and educational programs.
Torch Webcams
An excellent way to pre-visit the Statue would be to get a view from a location that has been off-limits to the general public since 1916! Visit the National Park Service's
Torch Camera page for more information.
