2014 Entrance Fee-Free Days Announced at Steamtown NHS

SCRANTON, Pa. – America's Best Idea – the national parks – gets even better with several entrance fee-free days at Steamtown National Historic Site, downtown Scranton, Pa. The historic railroad museum will waive its daily Entrance Fees on the following nine days in 2014:
· January 20 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
· February 15-17 (Presidents’ Day weekend)
· April 19-20 (opening weekend of National Park Week)
· August 25 (National Park Service’s 98th Birthday)
· September 27 (National Public Lands Day)
· November 11 (Veterans Day)
The National Park Service wants to reinforce that our national parks are places for everyone to have fun, reconnect with nature and history, and build a sense of ownership and stewardship toward parks and the environment. The entrance fee-free days at Steamtown will provide complimentary admission to the Park grounds, museum complex and scheduled walking tours, but will not include train rides and/or other amenity fees charged by the Park.
