  • Springfield Armory NHS closing for the day at noon on October 21, 2014

    Springfield Armory NHS announces that on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 the Museum will be closing early from 12:00pm to 5:00 PM to conduct a staff workshop. The park will reopen for regular hours at 9am on October 22nd.

  • New Winter operating hours beginning November 1, 2014

    Springfield Armory NHS announces new days of operation Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00AM – 5:00 PM, beginning November 1st through May 31. The park will be closed Monday and Tuesday through the Winter, until June 1, when 7 day a week operation will resume

Special Note: Due to special security requirements at Springfield Armory National Historic Site, most applicants for volunteer positions are required to submit to and successfully complete a federal background investigation before commencing as a volunteer. This investigation takes approximately one month to complete after all the necessary documentation is sent in. The background check is paid for by the National Park Service and requires submission of documents and finger prints that can be done on site or at your closest Police station. If you have any questions about this matter, please contact the park for more information.
