Researching records of Armory workers

Springfield Armory NHS has microfilm copies of records, including letters and payrolls, from the early years of the Revolutionary War to early 1911. Park staff have limited time, however, to research employment records requests, though every effort will be made within acceptible constraints. After early 1911, payroll records were made into individual folders which are not accessible at this site, but must be requested individually from:

Captain Stobo

Did You Know?
After the battle at Fort Necessity, hostage Captain Stobo was held by the French at Fort Duquesne. Given some freedom, he drew a map of the fort and had an Indian smuggle it to the British. The map was captured by the French and Stobo tried for treason. He was found guilty but managed to escape.
