Edward H. Rivard (1890-1981) shown here creating the Springfield Armory dioramas displayed above and for which he was made a life member of the National Historical Society. Mr. Rivard, a WWI US ARMY veteran, was an auto bodymaker for Rolls Royce of America before working for 35 years at Springfield Armory.

Did You Know?
Albert Gallatin remained active after retiring from the government. In 1831, at age seventy, he was named president of the new National Bank of New York. He served on the council that established New York University in 1831. He founded the American Ethnological Society in 1842, at age eighty-one.
