Paid Student Art Apprenticeships at Sitka National Historical Park

Sitka National Historical Park (April 17, 2012) - This summer, Sitka National Historical Park will be offering a paid art apprenticeship program for high school students interested in traditional Southeast Alaska Native art. Under the guidance of noted Native artist Charlie Skultka, paid student apprentices will spend nine weeks at the park's artist studios learning and demonstrating traditional and contemporary metal working techniques. These internships are available to all high school students and recently graduated high school seniors.  Preference will be given to students who attend high school at Mount Edgecumbe High School, Pacific High School and Sitka High School.

For more information about this program, please call Becky Latanich at 907-747-0132 or email at e-mail us.   A digital version of the application can be downloaded from www.nps.gov/sitk and paper applications are available at Sitka National Historical Park's Visitor Center.
