Hazard Tree Removal and Temporary Closure of Park Trails

Sitka National Historical Park (October 9, 2012) - Weather permitting, six hazard trees along the eastern boundary of Sitka National Historical Park near the Arrowhead Trailer Court will be removed starting tomorrow, Wednesday, October 10^th.For safety reasons, all trails on the northeast side of the park (including the Russian Memorial Loop) will be closed on Wednesday, October 10^th and possibly Thursday, October 11^th.There will be signs posting the trail closure information.These snags have become a hazard to life and property and are being removed for safety reasons.If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Michael Trainor, Chief of Maintenance, at 907-747-0150.
