Hazard Tree Removal and Temporary Closure of Park Trails

 

Sitka National Historical Park (October 9, 2012) - Weather permitting, six hazard trees along the eastern boundary of Sitka National Historical Park near the Arrowhead Trailer Court will be removed starting tomorrow, Wednesday, October 10th.For safety reasons, all trails on the northeast side of the park (including the Russian Memorial Loop) will be closed on Wednesday, October 10th and possibly Thursday, October 11th.There will be signs posting the trail closure information.These snags have become a hazard to life and property and are being removed for safety reasons.If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Michael Trainor, Chief of Maintenance, at 907-747-0150.
