Centennial Celebration Events for April, 2010
A glimpse into Sitka's past

April, 2010, will be the second month in the year-long celebration of Sitka's 100 year anniversary.

The highlight of this month will be a photo exhibit of E.W. Merrill's work. Merrill spent much of his life in Sitka, developing his love of photography. His distinctive photographs of Native Alaskans in the early part of the 20th century provide a frame of comparison between today's Native Alaskans and those of nearly 100 years ago.
