Superintendent John Bundy is pleased to announce a day of fun and educational activities for local children. The day camp will be held at the historic Native American mound complex from 9am-1pm on July 5, 2013. The day will consist of different and exciting hands-on activities that relate to Shiloh Park. First the children will discover and explore the 800 year old Native American mound complex located on the park. Next they will hit the interpretive trail to learn about nature, and the wildlife that inhabits Shiloh Battlefield.
"We are excited to present this opportunity to area children. We hope the fun filled, yet educational, activities will introduce young people to history, nature, and the importance of preservation in an exciting environment" stated Superintendent Bundy.
Children ages 8-13 years old are invited to participate in the day camp! The camp will be located out of doors, so children will need to come prepared to stay outside during the camp. Participants need to bring water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, and wear comfortable clothing for outside activities.
Participation is by registration only, as the program can only accommodate 30 children. Registered children will participate in the activities noted above from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. If you would like to register your child, please contact the visitor center at 731-689-5696.
